The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired slugger Adam Dunn from the Cincinnati Reds for a minor-league pitcher and two players to be named later. Dunn, 28, was batting .233 this season for the Reds, with 32 home runs. He’s tied for the major league lead in home runs. Dunn has a career .247 batting average.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Orlando Hudson underwent surgery late Saturday night to repair a dislocated bone in his left wrist and will miss the remainder of the season. Hudson was placed on the 15-day disabled list before the game and right-handed pitcher Edgar Gonzalez was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Orlando Hudson left the game against the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night because of an apparent wrist injury. Hudson was attempting to field an errant throw from reliever Juan Cruz when Atlanta catcher Brian McCann collided with Hudson’s left wrist. Hudson immediately fell to the infield dirt and rolled in pain before leaving the game.
