Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 1 (AP)
Brad Penny continued his mastery of the Arizona Diamondbacks and the National League. The right-hander earned his 10th win and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Arizona 8-1 on Monday night. He allowed one run and four hits in eight innings and improved to 7-2 against the Diamondbacks. Penny (10-1) lowered his NL-leading ERA to 2.04.

Arizona options RHP Enrique Gonzalez, recalls RHP Dustin Nippert (AP)
The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned right-hander Enrique Gonzalez to Triple-A Tucson and recalled right-hander Dustin Nippert on Friday. This is Nippert’s second stint with Arizona in 2007. He is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 10 relief appearances. Gonzalez appeared in one game for the Diamondbacks, allowing three earned runs and four hits in two innings.
