Nearly a year after Max Scherzer was drafted in the first round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, the former Missouri star pitcher is still waiting for the payoff. The 22-year-old right-hander, and the only first-round pick in school history, is pitching for the independent Fort Worth Cats after failing so far to reach an agreement with Arizona.
