The Arizona Diamondbacks designated infielder Donnie Sadler for assignment before Thursday’s game with the Colorado Rockies. Sadler, who was brought up from Triple-A Tucson last Friday, was 0-for-1 in his brief stay with the Diamondbacks. The move became necessary when infielder Jason Smith was claimed off waivers on Wednesday from Toronto.
