Arizona 1B Jackson leaves game with hand injury (AP)
Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Conor Jackson left Sunday’s game against the San Francisco Giants with cuts on his right hand after he was thrown out on a headfirst slide into home plate. X-rays were negative, and Jackson could return to the lineup when the Diamondbacks play at the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night.

Arizona manager Bob Melvin refused to let Barry Bonds beat him. Melvin walked Bonds intentionally three times with runners in scoring position, including in the ninth inning, and the strategy worked for the Diamondbacks in a 3-2 victory over San Francisco that snapped the Giants’ eight-game winning streak Friday night.
