Arizona reliever Jose Valverde and the Diamondbacks agreed Tuesday to a $2-million, one-year contract. Valverde, who was eligible for arbitration, made $359,000 last year, when he went 2-3 with a 5.48 ERA in 44 games. He had 18 saves in 22 opportunities.
