The Reds got utility player Jerry Gil from Arizona on Friday as part of a swap of minor leaguers, sending right-hander Abe Woody to the Diamondbacks. Gil, who turns 24 on Saturday, was added to the 40-man roster. He hit .256 in 128 games at Double-A and Triple-A last season with 27 homers. Gil has played 29 games in the majors, all for Arizona in 2004.
